Shaykh Abdul Wahab Saleem
Upon completing high school in Toronto, Shaykh Abdul Wahab Saleem went on to obtain an Associate’s degree in Arabic and Islamic Culture from the renowned King Saud University, the highest-ranking institution in the Middle East. He then completed a Bachelor’s in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh with honors from the same university.
While pursuing his university education, he studied numerous classical works with a diverse group of distinguished scholars, most regularly under the tutelage of Sh. Anwar Abdullah Al-Faḍfarī. He has obtained licenses (ijazāt) to teach numerous sacred texts in all Islamic sciences including Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Ḥadīth, Tafsīr, and ʿAqīda, as well as the recitation of Imam ʿĀṣim (Ḥafṣ & Shuʿba).
He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from the United Kingdom. Thereafter, he attained a Master of Arts in Tafsīr and ʿUlūm al-Qurʾan. He currently resides in Malaysia. The Shaykh has learned from, met, and exchanged thoughts with a wide range of scholars from around the world.
He is the founder of Salik Academy, an instructor at Mishkah University, a lecturer at Restu International College and an author of a number of articles and books, some of which remain manuscripts to this date. He has taught and lectured at venues in several countries around the world. In addition to lecturing around the world, he has made appearances and presented complete seasons on various TV stations and YouTube channels including Al-Hijrah TV, Huda TV, Ramadan TV, Sharjah TV, The Daily Reminder and more.
Shaykh Yaqub Mikus
Yaqub Abdurrahman Mikus was raised in Michigan and embraced Islam by the mercy and grace of Allah at the age of 19. His desire to learn about Islam led him to study at the Dar al-‘Ulum al-‘Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah institute in South Africa. There, he completed the six-year ‘alimiyyah program under the guidance of Shaykh Mufti Taha Karaan (the Dar al-‘Ulum’s principal) and the other much-respected teachers.
Upon graduating, he stayed at the institute spending time studying research methodology and the writing of fatawa. As well, Shaykh Yaqub taught at the institute and his specialty was Shafi’i Fiqh and Ulum al-Hadith. Thereafter, he traveled to Egypt where he spent four years being busy with studies, research, and teaching.
Shaykh Yaqub has taught extensively online. As well, he has lectured in the Washington DC based Fawakih Arabic program. He very much enjoys the discourses of classical Islamic scholarship and is an avid classical text researcher. Currently, he lectures full-time in Shafi’i fiqh, hadith, and ‘aqidah in one of Chicago’s Dar al-‘Ulums where he resides with his wife and three children.
Ustadh Majed Mahmoud
Majed was born in Saudi Arabia where he studied the basics of different Islamic sciences for 9 years which was part of the Saudi school curriculum and then he immigrated to Canada during high school.
Majed graduated with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor and took 50 courses including theology, Islamic jurisprudence and Quranic sciences with Al-Maghrib Institute and a few courses of tajweed & tafsir with Al-Bayyinah Institute. Majed also completed a Master degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University. During this period he completed his memorization of the Quran.
Majed has traveled around the world lecturing about different aspects of Islam and has completed a TV series with Huda TV & Peace TV. He is currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Islamic Jurisprudence & Legal Theory from Al-Madinah International University while working as a Mechanical Engineer.
